Sarah Poehler shared her free prom limousine service with her classmates of Stoneman Douglas High School to the prom at the Signature Grand in Fort Lauderdale. “It is exciting and fulfilling to see young people sharing positive memories together. This is one of the primary reasons we created the Ultimate Prom Giveaway essay contest to promote inclusion of those with special needs, like Sarah who has Muscular Dystrophy. In addition, the contest acknowledges their accomplishments and aspirations. We look forward to next years contest which we look to expand with sponsor support to include male contestants”, said Lisa Hamilton-Johnson, President of TLC Mobility Foundation.
In addition, the contest awarded prizes to runner-up Cynthia Sanchez of Coconut Creek and attends Atlantic Tech Magnet High School and honorable mention winner, Gaelle Lamothe of Fort Lauderdale and attends Dillard High School. “This is a great opportunity to bring a memory for a lifetime to all three finalists who have big hearts, and have a desire to make a difference while acknowledging the need and awareness of equal access transportation services for all,” said Dr. J.R. Harding, Chairman of the State of Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged which served as one of the judges.
